Copyright Free Images

Finding Copyright Free Images

If you’re like me it can sometimes be a little tiresome searching the internet for an appropriate image or pic to compliment the articles or blogs you publish on your websites or indeed anywhere else you publish such as ezines, forums etc etc.

Also a standard Google image search might yield some amazing results, but are those images safe to use? Sometimes it’s hard to answer that question. And licensing agreements on websites offering free images can be hard to interpret. Plus, you always want to avoid using a clichéd stock photo that screams out at you from the page  –  “this image was free!”

To help people find copyright free images/pics/photo’s I’m giving links to a whole lot of sites I’ve used on a regular basis over the years.  Between them these sites have literally millions of pics/images that will surely help people locate high-quality, interesting photos.

If you are a member of Wealthy Affiliate these 20 photo/image sources I’ve listed below will be a very useful addition to your arsenal for your articles/blogs/posts and pages within your WA websites.

If you aren’t a member of WA and you would like to try your had at internet marketing you can sign up here or follow this link to find out more information on getting started.

As always when using images on the web, you’ll need to be mindful of restrictions regarding usage and licensing. I have done my best to ensure that everything is properly categorized, but due to changing restrictions, you will always want to refer to the specific terms of use for any image you plan to use no matter where in the world you live.

Pexels

This site is great for niches and is search-based. The results yield high-grade images that will be useful in many marketing promotions.

Foodie’s Feed offers high-quality food photos on an easily navigable site. There is a useful search function and helpful categories, which makes looking for specific food photos even easier.

Jéshoots

Jan Vasek’s offerings are categorized and searchable.  Although there aren’t as many offerings as some other sites, the website is simple to use and worthy of a look.

 FreeMediaGoo.com

This site offers unique categorizations and media. Besides the free photo offerings, there are also “textures” and “digital backgrounds.” The site is not yet searchable.

Imagebase

With 6 categories and many options, Imagebase is a great combination of simplicity and quantity. There are enough images for you to have a wide and varied choice when it comes to something simple and generic.

ISO Republic

This site isn’t very old and founded by designer and photographer Tom Eversley, ISO Republic offers stunning images in the following 6 categories: architecture, nature, people, textures, urban and various. This site is searchable.

Death to the Stock Photo

If you’re looking for quality, don’t ignore Death to the Stock Photo. The quality is brilliant and you only need to supply your email address to receive high-resolution photos by email every month.

Gratisography

Combining beautiful images and easy to use, Gratisopraphy offers high-resolution images and is updated weekly.

Little Visuals

Although Little Visuals hasn’t been updated for some time, there are still some great landscape and abstract shots in the archives.

Jay Mantri

I’m sure you will appreciate the beauty and simplicity of Jay Mantri’s work and website. He offers 7 new photos every Thursday, but the site is not searchable.

Life of Pix

New photos are added to Life of Pix weekly. The collection is composed of high-resolution options, but again the site operates without a search function, so it might take more time to search – but the outstanding image quality is worth the extra time.

Pickup Image

Searchable and categorized, Pickup Image offers many impressive nature photos and is linked to Foodie Live. The site has over 40 contributing creatives.

New Old Stock

Cole Towsend’s site offers vintage photos captured pre-copyright law. Check it out if you’re in need of some unique, old-time photos for your website/article or blog.

Moveeast

This site offers Asian inspired, urban photos, which are both distinctive and high-quality.

Pixabay

Pixabay offers over 280,000 photos. The site is user-friendly, offering a simple search function and many categories for your niche-photography needs. The site is available in 20 languages, which is a testament to its many free image contributions.

MorgueFile

MorgueFile asks that you give attribution when able, but it’s not required. The site offers a useful search function that also yields matches from iStock, Getty, Fotolia, Dreamstime, and DepositPhotos.

Cupcake

Offering free “do whatever you want” photos, Cupcake has original, high-resolution nature photos. Photographer Jonas Nilsson Lee created this website specifically for those in need of free images. The site isn’t searchable, but it does have an archive and recent additions are on the homepage.

Freeimages

This site offers an impressive collection of royalty-free images. Be sure to check the licensing information for yourself before you use any of the photos, as the information is a little complex.

MMT

MMT is a collection of outstanding and gorgeous nature photos. The site is not searchable, but is well worth your time to explore.

That’s it folks and I hope I’ve given you enough links for all the pics/images you will ever need for your marketing campaigns.

  1. Hi Dennis
Thank you for your comment on my site.
Information such as where to find good free stuff such as Pics and Images or at a price that wont blow your budget has always been important to me because I know the importance of a personal start-up budget and how much a person can afford to lose or not as the case maybe. This is especially so when you are first starting out in internet marketing.

Hopefully when ‘Newbie’ visitors such as yourself land on my site wont leave it too long and make up there mind sooner rather than later to signup to wealthy affiliate and realize it was one of the best decisions they have ever made for their future financial security. And the ‘Price Is Right’ because it cost you nothing and the same ‘Price’ for them to get their foot in the door to some awesome training as well as get those 2 free websites to get started.

I hope you will visit again as I update this site on a regular basis.
    Have a nice day.
    Regards

That is what sharing is all about – helping each other.
I hope you will come again and read some of my other pages.
Also why not signup to wealthy affiliate and get those two free websites.
Then you could use those images you have access to for your site.
Makes sense to me, how about you?
    You have a nice day.

  6. Hi Donna.
Thank you for the comment and I left one on your site as well.
I guess when you first start out as an Affiliate/Internet Marketer you need all the help you can get, and if its free then so much the better, don’t you think?
Anyway I find loads of ‘Free’ stuff on the internet and I share it with my fellow WA members and the visitors to my sites in articles or blogs on wealthy affiliate.
I do hope you will find all the images and pics you will ever need in the List and share the URL’s with your friends or fellow marketers. You never know you could generate a little bit of interest in Wealthy Affiliate and we could get a few signup’s between us.
Its all grist to the mill as they say where I come from.
Once again, thank you for your comment, and the URL I left on my comment on your site is my new one (nowhere near finished yet)
    Regards

  7. Hey Robert,

What a great list! I have never heard of any of these sites. Another great one is Solid Stock Art.

    Blessings,
    Suzanne

  8. Hello Donnie.
The reason I gave the list to the visitors to my site was because licensing agreements on websites offering free images can be hard to interpret. So you have to be very much aware when using images on the web, and need to be mindful of restrictions regarding usage and licensing. No matter which search engine you use there is always the risk that you will breach the licencing laws or copyright laws.
My list of sites cuts out almost 100% of that happening.
Thank you for your comment and your info on the subject of free images/pic/photos though.
    Have a nice day.
    Regards
    Robert Allan

  9. Hey, Robert! Thanks for the arsenal of sites with free pic offers! that’s a great collection!

Have you ever tried, “Google Advanced Image Search,” using the drop-down box, “User Rights,” with the setting, “free to use, share or modify, even commercially?

It yields search results of photos that are free to use commercially and you can even modify them!

Thought you might like to know! Have a great night!

  10. Hi Bob. Thank you for the comment and I hope you will find a use for them.
I don’t know if you are an affiliate or not but if you are and you are not yet a member of Wealthy Affiliate you could do a lot worse than signing up and put those image/pic resources to even better use promoting whatever you would have on your 2 free websites.
    Regards
    Robert Allan

  11. All that I can say is WOW!! What a great collection of resources. Thanks for posting it.
